FCG Professor Achieves 10,000 Citations Milestone on Google Scholar
In a recent update from Google Scholar, Professor Wai Ming To from the Faculty of Business has reached an impressive milestone, surpassing 10,000 citations (see Fig. 1). As one of MPU’s most prolific researchers, Professor To has authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles, which includes 44 SSCI and 38 SCI publications, garnering more than 6,600 citations for his MPU-affiliated research since 2003.

His work continues to earn widespread international acclaim. Professor To’s study on green purchase behavior has been recognized as an ESI Highly Cited Paper since July 2023, while his recent research with Associate Professor Billy T.W. Yu on AI in tourism and hospitality ranked in the top 1% of highly cited papers by Scopus (see Fig. 2).

Furthermore, several of his papers have been featured as cover articles in prestigious SCIE and SSCI journals (examples in Fig. 3).

Building on his global influence, Professor To became the first MPU Professor to be named to Stanford’s World Top 2% Scientists list in 2020. He has retained this prestigious recognition for six consecutive years spanning from 2020 to 2025 (reflecting his single-year citation impact for the years 2019 to 2024). With ongoing support from MPU and the Faculty of Business, Professor To and his colleagues remain committed to producing high-impact research that drives academic and societal progress in the years ahead.
