Objectives

This programme aims to cultivate professional translators and interpreters with a forward-looking perspective and strong intercultural communication skills. Closely aligned with the digital transformation of the language services industry, the curriculum integrates cutting-edge technologies such as translation big data, corpus tools, and AI-assisted applications. It is designed to help students not only strengthen their Chinese–Portuguese translation and interpreting abilities, but also develop the capacity to integrate modern translation technologies into professional practice.

Through rigorous theoretical training and highly contextualised practice, students will build specialised discourse competence in a range of fields, including public administration, law, business, and audiovisual translation. They will also engage in extensive practical training in simulated professional settings, thereby enhancing their expertise in both written translation and interpreting.

The programme is committed to nurturing high-level language professionals who can respond effectively to globalisation and technological change. Upon graduation, students will be equipped to handle professional texts independently, undertake conference interpreting assignments, and perform cross-linguistic communication tasks in a wide range of professional contexts, including government institutions, international organisations, and enterprises.

Career Prospects

Graduates will become high-level professional translators or interpreters in government or private sectors and will be capable of adapting to the needs of social development.

Classes will be scheduled after 18:00 from Monday to Friday and on Saturday.
